    How to Build a Resume: Structure and Advice
    Resume is a condensed version of the most important job experience for a potential employer and professional skills and knowledge of a candidate.

    Did you know that recruitment consultants spend about 30 seconds on one resume?

    That is why it is very important to make your resume:
    • Clear
    • Complete
    • Structured
    Correct resume structure:
    Recommended resume format is no more than 2-3 pages.

    Resume must contain:
    • Contact information: first and last name, address (city), phone and email.
    • Work experience: name and type of companies you worked for, time period you worked for them (month and year), title, responsibilities and achievements.
    • Education: name of education institutions, studying periods, additional education (trainings, skill enhancement courses, internships)
    • Professional skills: foreign languages knowledge, computer knowledge including special programs and equipment, driving license status
    Things that may not be required in your resume:
    • Remove title “Resume”, “CV”, etc (from the documents itself it is clear what you mean), but required on the file name
    • Depending on the role you are applying to, potential employer may only be interested only in last 3-5 places of work and time frame of no more than 10 years); but please include if it is relevant to the role and company
    • Physical data and your health condition
    • If you were to include a photo then it should not be an informal photo, that is too small or too large, vacation photos etc.
    • Unsuccessful projects description
    • Reasons why you quit previous jobs, this is usually discussed during the interview
    • Letters of recommendation, this can be available upon request
    Check your resume for perfection
    • Ask someone who knows the language in which your resume is written to proofread it
    • Check if all information is in correct order and in the same format: for instance, if you use certain abbreviation once, keep the same style through the whole resume (better to avoid abbreviations and use full words)
    • Try to avoid long phrases, complicated and unclear words, or abbreviations.
    • Choose a convenient reading format: wide margins, font that is not too small or too large, enough paragraph spacing
    • Preferable use PDF format for your resume to avoid format adjustments when transferring file
