I recently spoke at the “War for Talent – Recruitment in the IT sector online forum” with my colleague Dmitry Gusev and felt it was a good idea to put the main points of our presentation into an article. Our discussion covered the subject of IT Outsourcing in the developing world, looking at the differences between mature and immature markets and uncovering many of the myths and challenges faced when engaging with outsource partners across the world.

IT Professionals have so many options available to them and companies reaching out directly all the time. It's not even an exaggeration to say that a highly skilled developer may have 5, 10, or even 15 companies they could apply to, or want to interview with. This is an excellent position to be in but at the same time, it can be overwhelming and quite time-consuming since each company is going to have very different pros and cons.

Thailand's staffing market is rather small, it can’t be compared to the leading markets such as the US, Japan or Europe. Staffing services market penetration in Thailand is also significantly lower. While RPO is one of the most popular HR services which since 2017, according to Staffing Industry Analysts, continues to outgrow the larger staffing market, it remains underdeveloped in Thailand.
